The white Fristerhof farmhouse between the trees, seen from the road

About Fristerhof, a farmhouse from 1728

Now a holiday home for groups, just across the Dutch border and close to nature.

Hospitality in a place with history

I'm Werner Baars, your host. I live next door to Fristerhof, so I usually welcome you myself. During your stay I'm also close by if you need anything or have a question. I'm Dutch and also speak German and English.

I welcomed my first guests in 2009. I wanted to show people how peaceful and beautiful it is here, and I still do. Since then, families, groups of friends and other groups have stayed here, for a weekend together or a reunion.

Feel free to ask me what there is to do in the area. My aim is simple: that every guest feels welcome and goes home happy.

From a farmhouse from 1728 to a holiday home

Fristerhof dates from 1728 and stands on a terp, a raised mound that protected the farmhouse from the floodwaters of the Rhine. In 2005 the farmhouse was renovated, and since then it has had every modern comfort. Its character has been kept, with oak beams, green shutters and a yard full of greenery.
