Who we are

Vakantiehuis Fristerhof, Fristerweg 35, 47533 Kleve-Keeken, Germany, is responsible for processing personal data as described in this privacy policy.

What data we process

We process the data you give us yourself, and some data that arises when you visit this website:

• First and last name
• Address details
• Phone number and email address
• Details of your stay, such as the dates and the number of people
• Payment details, such as your bank account number
• What you write or tell us, through the contact form, by email or by phone
• Technical data about your visit to the website: IP address, type of browser and device, and the pages visited

What we use it for

• Handling your booking and stay, including payment. Legal basis: performance of the contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
• Answering your questions, and contacting you when your booking requires it. Legal basis: (preparing) the contract, or our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR).
• Meeting legal obligations, such as the duty to keep tax records. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR.
• Keeping the website secure and working properly. Legal basis: our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
• Only with your consent: measuring how the website is used, so we can improve it (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

The GDPR is the General Data Protection Regulation of the European Union; in Germany it is called DSGVO, in the Netherlands AVG.

Booking through Beds24

Reservations are made through the Beds24 booking module, which is loaded straight away on the Book page. Beds24 processes what you enter there on our behalf.

When the module loads, Beds24 receives your IP address and places cookies that are needed to make a booking. The module also loads fonts from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address too.

Contact form and email

Through the contact form you send us your name, email address and message, and if you wish your phone number, travel dates and the number of people. The form is sent as an email through Gmail (Google) to info@fristerhof.com; the website itself does not store your message.

To prevent misuse, the website keeps track for one hour of how many messages have been sent per IP address. For this, the IP address is only stored in encoded form (as a hash).

The form is also protected against spam with Cloudflare Turnstile from Cloudflare, Inc. Turnstile only loads once you start filling in the form, and checks that the form is sent by a person. For this, Cloudflare receives technical data about your browser and connection, such as your IP address and your browser’s user agent; Cloudflare does not receive the content of your message. Cloudflare processes this data on our behalf to detect bots, and also uses it itself to improve that detection. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a form without spam and misuse (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Map

The homepage and the contact page show an OpenStreetMap map, which is loaded straight away. The OpenStreetMap Foundation receives your IP address when it loads.

Cookies and statistics

This website itself only places one necessary cookie, which remembers your choice in the cookie banner. We only use Google Analytics if you consent to it in the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time via “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page.

Hosting

This website runs on servers of Hetzner Online GmbH in Germany. As with every website, technical data is recorded in server logs, such as your IP address, the time and the pages requested. We only use it to keep the website secure and working properly.

Reviews

The reviews on the Reviews page were written by guests, on platforms such as Google, Airbnb and Natuurhuisje or on our own website. Each review shows where it was written. We show a selection and copy the text unchanged, with the name the guest used there.

Before a review appears on this website, we check against our bookings whether the writer really stayed with us. If we cannot confirm that, we do not publish the review.

Sharing with others

We do not sell your data. We only pass it on when that is needed to perform our contract with you, or to meet a legal obligation.

Companies that process data on our behalf, such as the booking module, the email service, the spam protection and the hosting, may only use it for us. We make agreements with them about the security and confidentiality of your data; we remain responsible for this processing.

Some of these parties, such as Google and Cloudflare, may also process data outside the European Union. This only happens with the safeguards the GDPR requires for it, such as an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep data

We do not keep your data longer than needed for the purpose for which we received it. Messages through the contact form or by email that do not lead to a booking are kept for no more than 12 months. Booking and payment data are kept for as long as the law requires, such as the duty to keep tax records.

Your rights

You have the right to access your data, and to have it corrected or deleted. You can also ask us to restrict the processing, object to the processing, have your data transferred to yourself or another party, and withdraw consent you have given.

Send your request to info@fristerhof.com. We will reply as soon as possible, and within one month at the latest. To make sure the request comes from you, we may ask you to confirm it.

Do you have a complaint about how we handle your data? You can submit it to a supervisory authority, for example in the country where you live (in the Netherlands the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens), or to the supervisory authority for our business, the Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen.

Children

We do not intend to collect data from visitors under 16 without the consent of their parents or guardian. If you think we hold data about a minor without that consent, please contact us at info@fristerhof.com and we will delete it.

Security

We take appropriate measures against misuse, loss, unauthorised access and unwanted changes to your data. This website can only be reached over a secure connection (https).
